What does a Financial Manager do?
As part of a dedicated client servicing team, the Financial Manager oversees the daily accounting of an international client portfolio. Collaborating closely with legal and support colleagues, each team member maintains the client portfolio to ensure its integrity and the delivery of consistently high-quality services. Your role involves addressing complex inquiries, requests and reporting, ensuring client satisfaction, and providing comprehensive accounting- and associated services.
You’ll report directly to the Team Manager Finance.
Your main tasks and responsibilities include:
Accounting:
- Handling day-to-day financial transactions for clients
- Preparing and reviewing Interim and Regulatory Reporting
- Compiling and reviewing Annual Accounts (Dutch GAAP/IFRS)
- Preparing, reviewing and submitting periodic Tax Returns (VAT, CIT, Wage Tax)
- Preparing and reviewing cash flow statements
- Managing outstanding client invoices and debtor collections
- Scrutinising financial records and associated transactions
- Reviewing and executing distributions and capital contribution requests
- Promptly addressing additional accounting-related requests from clients
- Collaborating with Shared Service Centre (SSC) colleagues to ensure end-to-end delivery for clients, providing support and coaching as needed
Audit and compliance:
- Preparing and reviewing audit files, working papers and assisting with statutory audits
- Conducting, coordinating and reviewing compliance-related activities including CFT and AML
- Identifying, reporting and managing (compliance) risks
- Compiling and reviewing compliance files
Building and maintaining relationships:
- Maintaining your own client portfolio
- Working closely with partners (law firms, notaries, tax consultants, accountants) and internal legal managers
- Expanding the team’s client portfolio
Who are we looking for?
We seek people who are proactive, hands-on, digitally literate, flexible and eager to work in a client-focused environment.
To be successful in this position you have:
- At least 3 – 7 years of experience (audit or accounting)
- At least 2 years’ experience in managing/coaching a small (junior) finance team
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance (e.g. accounting, business economics, business administration)
- Comprehensive knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
